In our house, a strawberry is a "dabee" thanks to Maggie coining the term way back when. We picked two big buckets full of juicy red (and organic!) sweetness on Monday morning.

The outing was a constant reminder of the time we went dabee picking 2 years ago when I was pregnant with Joe. It was kind of weird...the day, the perfect weather all felt the same...but there was a new first timer. He caught on fast!

First Timer

Maggie refuses to eat a berry at home. She says she "only likes them in the field". And, boy, did she love them!

Dabee Pickin

It's hard work taking in all that fresh air and sneaking/stuffing berries when Mommy's back is turned.
Wiped Out

Yesterday Mark and I celebrated 8 years of marriage! Wowza!!! Eight years???? Really??? Doesn't seem possible. Then again, it felt like eons since we'd eaten at one of our favorite and perfectly authentic Mexican restaurants for dinner. And, we were so happy to see that the kids loved it too! Lucky us!

Celebrating 8

Two days and all of these wonderful interruptions and I'm almost done sewing Maggie's first dress. She's flitting around in it right now. I just need to hem it and it'll be done! I wish it turned out a little more full, but other than that it's pretty cute. Here's a peek for ya...

Almost There

And, finally, a conversation:

Maggie: "Mommy, you member (remember) when you and Daddy get married?"

Me: "Yep, of course!"

Maggie: "You wear a pretty white dress?"

Me: "Yep!"

Maggie: "I'm gonna wear a white dress one day"

Me: [sniff, sniff]
